Casa Rancacci is a restored farmhouse set high in the hills above the Val di Pierle on the Tuscan/Umbrian border, set on the softly rolling hills of Tuscany at the border with Umbria. Its splendid position ensures a panoramic view on the surrounding quiet countryside.
The swimming pool is enclosed by green fields and offers an open view over the surrounding valley which is dominated by the ancient mediaeval fortress of Pierle. Tempting natural tracks offer the possibility of countryside walks or more ambitious trekking. |

The buildings are divided into apartments One, Two and Three, each with its own entrance, and are surrounded by a garden and faces an orchard with olive fruit trees.
The swimming pool, which is set in the partially wooded garden, has a beautiful view down the valley. It measures 12 x 6 metres (approximately 40 x 20 feet). It is for use by guests of the three apartments. There is an outdoor barbeque and pizza oven in the garden not far from the swimming pool.
Casa Rancacci is 3 kms from Mercatale di Cortona, a village that offers most holiday requirements; shops and restaurants, banks and pharmacies etc. It is 12 kms north of Lake Trasimeno, and 20 kms east of Cortona. Siena is 80 kms west (1.5 hours by road), and Florence 100 kms north (2 hours).

This apartment, known as the 'Little House', originally was used as a barn. It has been restored in a very characteristic way so as to preserve its rustic features.
It is made up of a living room with kitchenette (equipped with oven and freezer) and a dining room with single sofa bed. Bathroom with shower and double bedroom.
The apartment is fully equipped and has been recently restructured maintaining the original features of the farmhouse. |

It comprises a large rustic kitchen with old style corner fireplace, kitchenette (with oven and freezer) and dining room. There is a bathroom with shower and one bedroom with a double bed. There is room for a single bed in the living area, if required. |

This lovely 2 bedroom apartment usually sleeps 3-5 people, although the position of the beds could be rearranged in order to accommodate up to six people.
The apartment is on the first floor with an external loggia.
The living room comprises a kitchenette (equipped with oven and freezer) and dining area with an antique style corner fireplace. There are two bedrooms; one has a double bed and the other has 2 singles. There is a well-appointed bathroom with shower.

The change-over day is Saturday in high season; Holiday dates out of season are flexible.
